Johnny Ball’s Commissioned
Lectures
Johnny will accept commissions to create specific lectures. In the recent past he has lectured specifically on Lord Kelvin, Michael Faraday, Isaac Newton, William Murdoch, Gregor Mendel, John Dalton, Joseph Priestley, Einstein for 2005 and I K Brunel for 2006. He has talked on the Histories of Games and Recreational Maths, The Mechanics of the Ancient World, Mechanical Engineering, 100 years of the Electron, Chinese Science (for a Beijing touring exhibition), Structures and Civil Engineering, Fire, Today’s Drug Scene, Science in the North East of England, Science in Lancashire and the North West, Science in the Midlands, Waste Management, Modern Electrical Generation and Nuclear Power. At the Tomorrow's World Exibition he performed 6 new lectures in 4 days for Young Engineers of Great Britain, two on Aerospace, two on Telecommunications, Pneumatics and Modern Shipping. For the Engineering Council (now the ETB) Johnny wrote and co-presented “Can We Engineer a Brighter Future” in 1993. This highly successful lecture has since seen many forms including 8 years of presentations for National Grid PR nationwide. He has written five stage musicals and several dozen educational songs and will write to order, educational lyrics on Maths or Scientific subjects. |
